Is it possible to add video memory by soldering memory chips from the RAM bar of a regular computer?

Hello! I was visited by a crazy idea in the form of adding RAM to a video card by soldering memory chips from a regular computer RAM bar.
Is it possible? If yes, then based on the fact that the video card is GDDR3, which RAM bar should I pull?) 0

Quite old video cards were upgraded sometimes. The board had free sockets for memory chips.
On modern ones, the memory that is soldered on DIMM strips is not at all the same. Theoretically, you can resolder live memory from a dead card to another card if the chip markings match, but the card most likely will not "see" them, because the memory controller configuration is set either by jumpers (0 Ohm resistors) or firmware. Here you already need to look for a datasheet for the card in general and for a specific GPU in particular, because it may not have physical channels for additional chips.
On Youtube there is a channel "CoRE" about computer hardware repair. They seemed to have a video about soldering memory.
UPD : Another channel turned out. Added memory herehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mLrKuq0OmrQ from about the 6th minute

Purely in theory, yes.
If there is free space on the board (there are places for non-soldered chips)
If exactly the same memory is available (look at the datasheets for the chips to match before booting)
If the hands grow from the right place and are able to solder the chip without damaging the chip itself, no fee

Try it, it should work, of course you need DDR3. just take it in the store for 8GB, so that later it's a pity, the old one was gone
