DELL 6420, costs 4GB of RAM

I want to add, but I don't know if there are any restrictions on combinations or should it also be 4GB and the same frequency? Or any memory will do?

It's like that, you won't know until you check. Find a memory with similar characteristics, it should work, but without the dual-channel mode of course. Just in case, discuss back money with the seller.

Ideally, take the beech to the store and ask them to pick up the memory that will work, because. it's not always the same.
So that the seller himself searches from the availability. It is safe, nothing will be spoiled, if it is not suitable, then the beech will not turn on or the memory will be invisible.

I have a great life 4 + 16. You can see 20 in total.

Worth trying out 8GB. But only practice will show whether it works or not. I had a case when fully compatible 4 bars (2 pairs each, bought in pairs at different times) did not work together, but inserted 3 each worked fine.
