I want to add, but I don't know if there are any restrictions on combinations or should it also be 4GB and the same frequency? Or any memory will do?

Worth trying out 8GB. But only practice will show whether it works or not. I had a case when fully compatible 4 bars (2 pairs each, bought in pairs at different times) did not work together, but inserted 3 each worked fine.
