Is it normal to make instructions for installing software on 24 pages?
I came across a funny article on Habré, in fact, this is an instruction for installing "some software" on a "typical server", for the sake of interest I copied the "instruction" into Word and received 24 pages of instructions! That is, in order to install the software, you need to complete 24 pages of instructions?!
And this is not some monstrous CRM with dozens of integrations, it's just 1 web application .
IMHO this is not normal and such a product should not be released at all, all that is "really needed" is 3 pages with "basic configurations" the rest is just fighting bugs and putting crutches on top of other crutches.
PS the article ends with the words "That's it, OTRS is ready for further customization.", which kind of hints that those 24 pages are just the beginning ...
I'm wondering if this is just my opinion or others think so too? What do you think "software installation" should look like.

I do not want to offend the questioner, but this entire instruction consists of "you need straight arms." if you do not have direct hands, then you will not only need a 24-page instruction, but you will also need a couple more textbooks on networking and operating systems.
