Is it necessary to complete special courses / have an education in programming in order to get a job as a programmer?
Good afternoon!
I am 31 years old, for the last 7 years I worked as a system administrator, I worked just for the sake of getting money, without thinking about what would happen next. Having rethought my past "achievements" and "skills", I firmly decided to become a programmer (it's more interesting and profitable), I chose Java to study, I study on my own from scratch , since there is enough material to start (books, free courses on the Internet, courses with a nominal fee, etc. .d.). At the same time, I began to learn how to get a job as a programmer, I ran into a situation that the employer I was interested in was hiring interns from training centers. This begs the question, is it necessary to have a special education / take courses in order to get a job as a Java programmer, or is this a special case? Is it realistic in the current market conditionslearn Java on your own , solve problems, make some kind of project, or without a crust about special education as a programmer, nowhere?
Thank you in advance!

Not necessary. Moreover, if you have administration experience, with equal knowledge of the programming language, you are preferred as a person with experience in IT.
But for many system administrators, retraining as a programmer takes a long time.
If you want, you can try to pass free java exams on different sites that issue their certificates to stuff them into your resume (helps to pass the stage for girls from HR who respond to keywords). The main thing is to answer competently at a technical interview, showing real knowledge.
Specifically, a programmer's diploma is not needed. But tool skills, mathematical basis and algorithmic training will be needed.
When a device in the state. enterprise and about them, you will need a diploma.
In other cases, the first impression and the results of test tasks work more.
Depends on where exactly and what kind of work you plan to get. The specifics of working as a Java programmer is such that you will most likely have to deal with working in the office of some fairly large company. If this is not an outsourcing company, then it is likely that you will have to provide documents on formal higher education when applying for a job. If this is an outsourcing company, and there are an overwhelming majority of such companies in the labor market of Eastern Europe, then you will not need anything but knowledge. Further promotion on the career ladder will depend solely on your abilities.
Listen so it's about me))! Sysadmin 31 years, 7 years of experience. And I chose Java programming for further development, because I plan to develop mobile applications. I take all the information from the world. I don’t plan to change my job yet, I will combine it, since I can afford it. Good luck!
University is needed but not everywhere, with regards to knowledge, it is not needed, with regards to getting a job, they often require specialized higher education
Before, when I got a job, I didn’t even have time to finish school. No one will even ask you about education.
for immigration, a programmer needs a tower, to work in Russia - in 90% of cases, no
I got my first job, in the middle of my studies in a techie.
So there are no problems with this. The main thing is to have knowledge.
No, of course, none of this is needed
. No one seems to forbid you to learn, so you can.
So the admins don’t say that the salary is especially less, but plus ten fifteen percent, well, I don’t even know if it’s worth it
