Is it legal to pentest your site?

There is a site that I want to deploy on a VPS server. Then I will pentest my site. (Imitating a real attack on the site. This attack will not be associated with the disabling of the system.)

Do I need to coordinate the pentest with the hosting company?
Do I need a document confirming my consent to pentest my site?

Or deploy the site to the local network and conduct a pentest.

Read the contract with the host - for sure this is not welcome. In a local network, of course, it is better.
