Actually an example:
In order for yum to knock through a proxy, you need to register a login / password for the proxy in its config. Is it possible to somehow prescribe it not in open form? What are the alternatives to storing the password in the config?

The last answer suggests storing the password in AES256
Set up IP authorization in the proxy, and no one will be able to go through it from another server.
