Is it easy to switch from Java to JS, JQuery?

I'm still studying Java, I stopped at an in-depth analysis of algorithms, because mathematics is still bad, so I kill two birds with one stone: I raise mathematics and study algorithms. But I would also like to try JS. So, the question was, how quickly can you, knowing Java at a certain level, master these languages?
Thank you very much in advance!

It all depends on what you need from js. Since you mentioned jquery, in addition to the language itself, you will also have to learn the API for working with dom, figure out what it is, how to work with it, deal with the jquery api ... Well, there is a lot of everything that can add difficulties. Also different browsers - different problems.
If you just need not to fall into a stupor seeing the js code, then it is relatively fast. For a normal understanding, given that you are also studying java, you can slow down in both.

probably no more difficult than writing bash after qbasic, then powershell, then c#, then asp.net - js, html...
