Is it difficult to switch from web development to mobile development? I write in php and javascript. I have never come across applied languages. Has anyone gone this route? And another question: is it right to start learning java with android development?

Mobile frameworks allow you to write excellent hybrid applications using js , php, html5. Strawberry in their cross-platform. One application per bucket. Apples and berries.
I emphasize - you can write not just sites, but full-fledged (almost) applications.
