Is it bad to create a case without talking to the seller?

I looked at the ebay interface - it's already the last day for disputes (45th) on one of the purchases. It's not the first time this happens, but usually I miss the magical last day. It ends in different ways: sometimes the package arrives late, and sometimes not. I decided this time to create a case in the Resolution Center in order to be able to return the money if it still does not come.
True, a case is not created if the question “Have you communicated with the seller?” answer "No". And there is little time to communicate, because tomorrow it will not be possible to create a claim in which case. Therefore, I answered “Yes”, and already in the comments to the case I wrote that I didn’t communicate with the seller at all and I suggest waiting a bit - suddenly the long-awaited package arrives.

Question: did I annoy someone with this action or did everything right (i.e. I protected myself from throwing)? In general, case - is it somehow bad for the seller or quite normal?

We are not a seller, and we do not know either his concepts or temperament, so it is difficult to guess how he will react to this. At the moment, nothing bad has happened: the seller has not lost money due to refund and has not received negative feedback. Therefore, continue to communicate with the seller with an open case. Just write to him that, due to the limited time for opening a dispute, you decided that it would be nice to protect yourself.

For the seller (as well as for the buyer) it is bad when a negative review. With a drop in the rating, the seller may lose commission discounts. And the resolution of the conflict only affects not to lose money. And here it is difficult to say - it all depends on time. How much time has passed in your case? According to the rules, it is impossible to open a conflict earlier than 4 days after the sale. then another week for an answer, and so on - the whole bodyaga lasts up to 6 weeks. I mean that in the event of a conflict in the worst scenario, the money will be returned after 6 weeks from the date of sale. However, this is another question. See if you have letters from the seller with postal tracking - maybe you could track where your package got stuck?
