Is Baumanka alive for IT people?

Hello, a rather point question about admission, opinions about IT universities
. The bottom line: I won the easy Olympiad from Baumanka, I graduated from the 10th grade, so I don’t get many benefits for entering universities like the Higher School of Economics and Moscow State University. Is Baumanka worse than other most famous Russian universities? Much worse?
It’s just that if it’s about at the level, I would prefer to devote myself to IT for one more year, without straining to prepare for the Unified State Examination.
That’s all, now about my interests and preferences
I am from Yekaterinburg, a lyceum with strong mathematics, but, as you understand, this is not a lyceum of physics and technology. I would like to find a university where I can get a strong theory. base, especially in ML (matan-linal-theorver), at the same time have time for self-development (do projects, I really want to do an internship in a big company), so that you can find interesting people to communicate with. So I think preparing for MIPT is not very suitable for me, but HSE and MSU sound tempting. I have strong nerves, I can endure cockroaches if necessary)

I don’t know for today, but at the time when I talked about research activities in the basements of the Baumanka, they were inventing technologies of almost the 22nd century. And what about knowledge - the base will be given everywhere, and then who tries how much and who is interested. There is no goal in the university to teach or graduate a specialist, if that

Abroad, BS / MS from Baumanka is quoted at the same level as from Moscow State University.

I graduated from Moscow State University and it would be better if I went to Baumanka. But it's to each his own

Projects, internships, I don't know. But as a 3rd year student, I can say that you can forget about the time "for self-development" for the first few years. In general, the concept of "time for self-development" is popular among the Kozers and I am no exception. The experience of generations suggests that they do not mean anything specific by this and this is realized in the form of a little more than an unorganized fuss. So it is better to concentrate on studies for the first two years.
PS you want more mathematics, in the context of the program - your choice iu9. But if your love is weak, blame yourself
