Is asterisk and voip relevant now in general?

I was offered a job as a junior developer of voip solutions based on asterisk.
How relevant is asterisk now? Is there a risk that in 3-10 years I will not be able to find a job in this field?

Asterisk is still relevant and will be relevant for a very long time (IMHO)
It is very difficult and dangerous to think in the IT field for 10 years. But taking into account the fact that many state offices are sitting on Asterisk, then in 10 years specialists will be needed
It is not entirely clear what is meant by "developer". If this is a C programmer writing modules or fixing bugs in *, then this is one direction. If it's a Python/Perl/etc programmer writing a system that interacts with * via AMI/AGI/ARI, that's different. If this is a person who writes config to * with pens, optimizing his work - the third.
In any case, having entered the direction of "telephony" you will have to independently expand your horizons, grow. And there will already be new horizons - "highload", scalable solutions, etc.
You may need a deep knowledge of SIP (Goldstein's guide to help) and other telephone protocols - PRI, SS7, etc.
Telephony is not going anywhere anytime soon, just like e-mail. The platform may be different, but the technology will remain.
Messengers, including voice messengers, will remain a secondary means of communication as long as their instructions and documentation state "do not use to call emergency services."
And if there are few innovations in telephony itself, integration with CRM and ERP, security updates, etc. will be needed.
Now all areas at risk of not finding a job in ten years, languages and paradigms will change
