Is a UPS required for an SSD?
I want to buy an SSD for my desktop PC, but I read that it is more sensitive to voltage drops. I have them quite rarely and nothing has ever broken in 8 years of use, even a hard drive. The PC itself is connected to the network through a surge protector. Is it necessary to buy a UPS for an SSD? After all, it costs half the cost of the drive and beats my pocket as a student.

Not necessary.
The UPS is needed in order not to lose the work done in the event of a sudden power outage.
It doesn't matter what disks you use.
From personal experience. Installed an SSD on my home PC. I have power outages. After several shutdowns, the disk was no longer detected by Windows (even in disk management), although Rstudio saw the data on it. Thought it was a coincidence. After the third such "accident" I purchased an UPS. If interruptions are rare, a stabilizer is sufficient. But I would recommend UPS. Lost data is usually more valuable than the cost of the UPS.
