Is 8GB of RAM enough for a Java programmer in MacOS?

Tell me, at the moment, in general, in MacOS X, 8GB RAM - how much is enough for a JAVA programmer? That is, in what year would I wildly want to shove a few more gigabytes into a Mac?
Taking into account 1-2 virtual machines from time to time, IDE, browser and similar trifles? Those. no graphics or games. The primary storage is an SSD.

Memory is never superfluous, especially in the case of Java and virtual machines.
If possible, take 16GB right away.
8GB, I think, will only just be, and you will want to deliver it right away.
