Why is the Google Drive icon not showing in the status bar?

The Google Drive icon in the status bar takes up space, but it's not visible.

And it is displayed only by clicking on this empty space.

It should be? Or is it a mistake?

In order to show a “beautiful” animation of this icon during synchronization, Google does not allow the system to fill it with the appropriate color for the bar. With a light bar, this worked - a light bar, a dark icon. And with the advent of the dark bar recently, garbage came out - the dark icon remains dark, which means it is invisible.
Lesson for Google and all of us: non-system solutions are more vulnerable when it comes to innovation.
