Iriver E150 and tags in Cyrillic?

Actually there is an iriver E150 player, there is music, the tags of which are recoded using EasyTAG (ID3v2.3, Unicode UTF-16).
Some of the Cyrillic tracks are displayed in hieroglyphs, but only on the E150. EasyTAG, Totem, Banshe and other software show everything correctly. If you manually refill the tags, everything will be as it should.
The task is at least: to find out that the tags will not be displayed correctly without loading the tracks into the player (to fix it manually).
The maximum task: to recode incorrect tags automatically.
I would be grateful not only for the solution, but also for a hint where to dig.

There can also be a difference between fixed length unicode and floating character code length.
