iPad 4 screen replacement, how to replace the cable?

Such a problem: I broke the screen on ipad 4 and decided to replace the glass myself. When I took it apart, I noticed that the cable from the whole glass is shorter than from the original one. It turned out that the cable was from iPad 2 and it is not compatible with iPad 3/4. What to do in such situations, is it possible to somehow replace the cable?
