Data archiving

I'm paranoid! All data including photos are stored in archives. I wanted to see the photo, but the archive does not extract everything, about half of what is on it. You can view one file at a time, though sometimes it takes a long time to think. I have three ways ... leave it as it is, reanimate the archive (zip fix) or look for an alternative to work with what I have. (zip archives)
