What is the best way to back up (and archive) a single directory in Windows Server 2012 R2 to a single hard drive?
Hello.
Tell me, please, how would it be better to set up backup of one folder on a separate hard drive in Windows Server 2012 R2 (no virtual machine is used)?
Interested in server solutions that do not require open user sessions by default (without crutches ). Search engines, at my request, offer a huge number of manuals for setting up archiving through a standard component.
The standard component, called in the Russian localization of the OS "Windows Server Backup" seems too inappropriate to me.
Let me explain: it does not abound with settings and does not provide an opportunity, for example:
+ copy only files with the specified extensions
+ create copies in the form of *.zip archives dated by the date of archiving (which is more transparent to the end user; even if it's advanced, it's still a user).
PS These examples are just examples, the presence of which is not a panacea.
Perhaps I'm not quite correct approach to the problem - please correct in which case.
Thank you in advance for your help.
