What is needed for this, besides installing drivers for the virtual machine? Already at the stage of installing drivers on Win XP, which are supplied as an archive, the driver installer cannot find the driver in the files of this unpacked archive (there is no information about the equipment in the specified location). The printer is connected to virtualbox, when the virtual machine is rebooted, a prompt is launched to install the driver for the device.

The main problem is that when you share a printer using Windows, it tries to install its driver on the Windows you are trying to print from .
So the solution may be to create a print server, but not on Windows, but on Linux - Windows sees CUPS (Linux print server) as a standard PostScript printer - and prints on it without problems.
