Shared access to virtual machines from different OS?

The computer has 2 operating systems: Windows 7 and Ubuntu 11.04. And there and there is VirtualBox. Task: to make virtual machines for these operating systems common. Those. so that the state of the virtual machine on 1 OS can be restored to the 2nd.
So far, I've decided to create links from Linux to the Windows partitions where the virtual machine files will be stored.
I see 2 options:
1. via ln -s
2. via mount --bind
Which is better? Or are there other suggestions?

You can just store virtual files on a shared drive (which is available in both windows and linux).

Hey!
I don’t know why what you described is for you, but in general terms, NFS storage would be very good here, if you have, of course, a second device that can become one. And between them - 1GB minimum.

I have ubuntu and windows. Virtualbox is installed here and there, the virtual machines themselves are stored in a folder on the ntfs disk, which is accessible from Linux. There are no problems running a virtual machine from under any system ... Snapshots and other things related to the virtual machine are stored in the same folder, registered in both systems ...
