Installing gnome in ubuntu, what are underwater?

I installed kde in ubuntu 16.04, I realized that I should not do this, there were a lot of problems after installation.
What about installing gnome in ubuntu?
I think that installation problems should be less.
Do not offer options to install ubuntu gnome.

From myself, I can recommend choosing the lightdm screen manager during installation. I unknowingly chose gdm first and ran into the problem of not being able to boot the system. It is possible that the problem was on my side in some of the components of the system and you may not have the problem again, but in the end I installed lightdm through recovery mode and everything worked like clockwork.
As far as I know, lightdm is recommended for use when you use several graphical shells, and gdm for when you use one.
Strangely enough, the default GNOME theme makes window controls almost invisible - I had to switch to a similar but custom theme.
