Installing a webcam in a laptop without it
There is a laptop - a rather old Asus. There is no camera in it, but there is a desire to provide it with one. Maybe someone has such experience or stumbled somewhere on an article about installation. First of all, he is interested in which camera to buy (and whether a microphone is needed separately), how and where to connect.
Not banned in Google, I found only one entry on some forum with a minimum of information and a couple of pictures.

Does the laptop itself have a seat for it, or are you planning to drill the case? (there are simply “cropped” versions of laptops, where there is a place on the cover but there is no camera itself).
If there is a place, look on the Internet for which camera model is used in your laptop, as an option - on eBay as a webcam replacement or something like that. It connects - on the motherboard there is usually a pair of non-soldered usb, that's where it connects. A microphone - if it is already in the laptop - then nafig is not needed. If not, or you are not satisfied with the quality, you can also cut it down.
But why? Isn't it easier to take a separate normal webcam with a microphone? Logitec does literally everything very well and with high quality, it will be faster, easier, and, for sure, more efficient.
Embedding a camera yourself in a laptop that was not designed for this is usually not worth it.
After all, there are good compact webcams that are hung directly on the laptop screen and do not interfere much with wires. You can always hide it if you don't need it.
Cameras inside usually cling to USB, the cable is shielded, everyone knows what the camera looks like.
The question is, does the laptop have an unsoldered USB or a USB donor, do you have enough space for the camera, will you find the camera and can you stretch the USB
Driver in this case, the hundredth thing.
Please note that most cameras require the installation of a protective glass
Have you taken your laptop monitor apart? You should first make sure that there is a place there for the implementation of your plans. Well, look right away - where to cling to on the motherboard in order to determine the type (flat, regular) cable ...
