Inappropriate client. Should I close the project myself?

I submitted an application, made a sample, the client was satisfied with everything and he hired me. And then, after the start of work and the first results, the client begins to change the requirements. The requirements have already changed three times, there is not a trace left of the original TK. It is clear that the client himself does not know what he wants. Four days have already passed, and the work has not actually begun yet, and the deadlines are already burning. At the same time, the deadline refuses to move, because it has a launch ... In general, I feel that all this will end in nerves and negative feedback. Therefore, there is a very strong desire to close the contract now. What is the best thing to do in such a situation?
As far as I understand, I can close the contract itself, how can I do it correctly (the client has not paid money yet)?
Will he be able to leave feedback (private, public)?
And will this work show up on my profile?

Well, it’s worth writing a letter before the activity, saying that it’s so and so, it’s very pleasant to work with you, but without a fixed TOR, it will not be possible to meet the deadlines.
You were happy to work with him and all that.

Yes, he can leave private feedback.
In
general, with any changes in the technical specification, the client should immediately change the cost of the work, and immediately notify him, because the changeable technical specification is a joy, it is a lot of work and a lot of money, the main thing is that the client knows about it, and not just you silently closed the contract.

Started and closed projects with zero cost still affect Job Success, but on the other hand, it’s better to spoil it with a closed contract than missed deadlines and also receive negative feedback.
Closing the contract is not a bad option.
