In which free OS can you create your own kernel subsystem for network devices?
I'm looking for a free OS in which working (and modding) with the kernel at a low level will be the least troublesome. To keep the kernel infrastructure open and documented. Monolithic kernels are more closed to programming than microkernels, which complicates the task. Among the micro-nuclear operating systems, there are available for modifications, but paid ones. What to choose?
