In what years did humanity move from the "age of mechanics" to the "age of electronics"?

Can you please write when we (mankind) moved into the "Age of Electronics".
As far as I know, this happened quite a long time ago, but the main leaps in progress began from 60-90 and from 90-n.v.

I believe this happened in the first half of the 20th century. The milestone event is the beginning of quantum physics (discovery of the electron).
