In what direction to move for development?

Good afternoon.
Today I work in the technical support of an Internet provider.
Unfortunately, the work is monotonous, and it is impossible to learn anything new on it.
I am very interested in networks, I study them in my free time. But the prospect of moving to network administrators in this company is extremely vague - over the past year, as far as we know, there was a single precedent.
I think it would not be more useful to quit this job and get at least some kind of ENI or hosting support in order to learn something new and useful at the job itself. Maybe it will even be the best experience to move on to network administration.
Interested in what you have to say, thank you.
