What specialty to choose in the field of IT-management?
Hello. Need help choosing a major.
I have been interested in advanced technologies for quite a long time, I have thoughts, ideas, and most importantly, the desire to start a business in IT. At the same time, I am already finishing my 5th year at a university in the humanities, and I feel that I have absolutely no knowledge for a successful start, even the slightest clues. Programming, engineering, and indeed most technical professions confuse me (maybe in vain?), so, apparently, only management remains.
In this regard, I plan to further study in the field of IT, for some reason Germany was chosen.
Actually questions:
Considering that it is business that is interesting in the first place, is management the best solution? Maybe, after all, try something applied?
What is the best way to study, what specific specialties should you pay attention to?
Does it make sense to get a university education, or online courses will save me?
I look forward to your advice.

I have an opinion: in IT, even in management, there is nothing to do without technical knowledge.
To become a good IT manager, namely a good one, who knows everything and everything, who knows how to explain, who knows how to sell, who knows how to buy, who knows how to advise and convince, you NEED:
- fundamental science and technology education (any - chemistry, physics, mathematics, programming, biologocybernetics);
- good higher management/economic education;
- knowledge of English at a very good level, the ability to communicate and understand the psychology of people, have a sense of humor and intuition.
All well-known (world) great managers have grown from techies, then gradually improving, more pumping in business education and management. Thus, start from the base. Otherwise, it will be difficult for you to get out, it will be difficult to crawl out, and not just fly up to the top of the mountain. For you will not understand anything in the specifics of the issue related to management .... Unless, of course, you are an extraordinary person who is found with a small degree of probability in society. By the way, do you know how to calculate and evaluate the probability of various events in transactions? The manager is also helpful! And in general, any analytics is based on mathematics, and without analytics, the manager is nowhere. Of course, you can hire people, but since the question is asked - about yourself, then the answer will be applicable to yourself - you need to learn to learn and not rely on others!
