In the binary system, what is the largest number out of 8 digits?

Hi guys. Here's a question:
In the binary system, the largest 2-digit number is 11
The largest 3-digit number is 111
The largest 4-digit number is 1111
What is the largest 8-digit number?
I know how the sums above add up, but I can't figure out how to add from 8 digits?

It is possible that the first bit is the sign of the number. Here either 11111111 or 01111111

What exactly is not clear from the words "binary system" and "eight digits"?
It is clear that the largest number is eight ones.
In a standard Windows calculator, type 8 units in binary mode and convert to decimal, get 255.
The dimension of a byte. 255=xFF=b11111111

Combines are not sharpened for this, there should be a 255 digit, but if the digits of the bits are digital, then you will succeed
