Good day. In general, this is how: I have an HP Pavilion g7 laptop (I bought it in March 2012) on which usb shorted out, first the laptop passed out, then I turned it on again, everything is fine "cooler" the screw works fine too, but the mouse and USB modem did not connect , after restarting. Tried another mouse, didn't work either. The touch mouse works fine too. Only USB is no longer plowed. This happened at the moment when I inserted the USB modem, but the USB slot does not have plastic (or maybe other material) that is placed on these iron contacts. In general, it is possible by email. scheme (or without it) to repair or disconnect this USB slot yourself and help other USB slots work?

Perhaps this will eliminate the short circuit and bring the USB back to life.
Or maybe they won't fix it and bring it back. If your arms are straight, go for it.
