If you remove exim4, does it hurt sending mail to php via mail()?

The question may seem silly to some.
If you remove exim4, does it hurt sending mail to php via mail()?
And in general, is exim4 needed if the server is used to create regular content sites based on Yii2, and from the mail functions there will only be letters when the user registers?

@Driver86

Are you sure you can deliver mail normally via php mail()? Setting up Exim is easy.
php mail() usually uses /bin/sendmail
