I myself like to work in good lighting and all the tools are set to "black on white", but at the new place of work, the team I got used to working in bad lighting.
To reduce eye strain, do you need to switch IDE and so on to "white on black"?

In my opinion, it is not the amount of light that is more important here, but what part of the lens works. Put a table lamp so that your eyes do not get used to the dark.
