If I want to learn C#, which direction should I go?

I want to learn C#, but I don't know how best to move. I think the best way to learn programming is by practice. I want to make some kind of application (I was thinking of creating a game - a platformer, or something like Paint), but I don't know how and where it's better to write it. If I write a game, then as far as I understand, it will be most convenient on Unity, but I’m generally a layman in this matter, and I’m afraid that if I start writing in unity, then I’ll be able to write only on it, and I’m unlikely to work in the gaming industry (I it's interesting, but as far as I know, getting there is very difficult). So is it a good idea to try Unity to learn a language, or is it better to try writing a game in Windows Forms or something?

@cheIowek

In any case, start by learning the syntax of the language. I can advise from the free one: metanit, ulearn.me, from the paid one - Ilya Fofanov's course on yudemi (at a discount that you can buy it somewhere every 19 days for a thousand)
Learning the basic syntax will take you 40-80 hours

If you want to study, study.
Do anything but don't ask such questions, they are only annoying
