ICFPC 2011 how?
What it is?
In short - a 3-day competition in the ability to think technically. Based on programming.
This is not an analogue of ACM, where algorithms are important. A completely different area.
Tasks and reports of past years can also be searched on Habré . In addition, LJ-user _adept_ writes wonderfully .
It is rather difficult to describe most of the tasks briefly, it is better to follow the links and read what they write.
For example, as part of one of the tasks in 2005, it was necessary to write a program for a language for a virtual machine that ran in a unix-style OS on another virtual machine with a different bytecode format. And we need to write both virtual machines according to the specification.
And this is just the beginning of the task.
Starts on June 17 at 04 Moscow time, Ends on June 19 at 04 Moscow time.
Actually, the team is going to participate.
So far there are 2 participants:
1. C/C++, Krasnoyarsk (+4 to Moscow)
2. Java, Moscow
Official information about the contest — tuts1 , tuts2 .
I don’t want to introduce an additional language into the team (in both senses - communication in Russian, coding - Java / pluses).
The organization of work will be based on an SVN server + Skype (both chat and voice).
For those who want to participate with us, write to Skype - ab.mark, northdragon
PS: still closer to qa than to the post, so I posted it here.
