I saw an iPad in the window and it has some kind of display function enabled in the settings, what is it?

The iPad store is on display and has some sort of show feature enabled. I pressed the button, exited the "Settings" program and was surprised. Where and how it was turned on, there seems to be still iOS 6.1.3, and it is simply connected to power, turned on and just shows different programs and does something, but this is not a video, but just something is enabled in the settings. How did they do it?
