How can a novice iOS developer make a sane design for an Iphone app?

We need to make a normal design of a small application (and I'm not a designer at all), there are clearly not enough standard elements - we need external ones and preferably with examples. For example, colored buttons are of interest (how are they generally made?). Google does not really give anything =(. Maybe there are some sets?

I can only suggest literature, quite interesting and informative:
Alan Cooper "Psychiatric hospital in the hands of patients"
There is a rather interesting approach to designing the interaction between a person and a device.
But with regards to the buttons, I will not tell you.

There are sets. Depending on what you need, they cost anywhere from 5 to 40 bucks. Knowledge of Photoshop will be very useful. Photoshop with the help of friends is mastered in a month or two. First of all, study the ideology of layers (Layers) and the use of styles (Photoshop styles).

But it is much more competent to use sets: www.splashnology.com/article/60-free-ui-design-kits-templates-and-resources/853/ choose a style, and make your own buttons ( find the first link).
In any case, the process is not fast - if you do it yourself

You can be inspired by the design of other applications - pttrns.com
