I can not figure out what kind of designation is w / o RAID?

There is a server with X11DPi-NT motherboard. There is a need to install Vmware ESXi on it and I want to put it on the created raid. I found a compatibility table for this mother with various OS https://www.supermicro.com/support/resources/OS/C6... and it states that this mother is compatible with Vmware ESXi 6.5u1 but with a strange note sSATA (w/o RAID, AHCI mode)I can’t figure out what it is means? Since even the downloaded distribution kit from the supermicro site sees individual disks, and not the assembled raid. At the same time, Windows sees this raid fine during installation after adding the necessary drivers and is normally installed on it.

w/o usually stands for without. That is, in this case, I would interpret - "without RAID"
