I bring to work a project that I did at home, and debugging does not start for me. You need to delete the .idea folder. Is there any way to bypass this?

I put breakpoints, and the IDE just ignores them. I close PhpStorm, delete the .idea folder, start PhpStorm, open the project, a new .idea folder is created and now debugging works.
I think it's because of the paths. At home, I have a project in another place.
Can you please tell me where this can be configured? To avoid deleting the .idea folder every time.

.idea should be in gitignore. Code in the repository. You don't have to carry anything with your hands. If you need to transfer PHPStorm settings, then for this there is its synchronization within the account
