HTTP pipelining - what is the status of usage in the real world?

Does at least some noticeable percentage of browsers use it by default? Or can a feature be considered completely dead and not even think about support on the server? There was a feeling that what pipelining was conceived for is now included in the form of http2 (+ of course other http2 features), but pure pipelining is actually dead and only works if the user himself goes to the bowser settings and checks the box. Or am I running and half of the default browsers are trying to use pipelining? Or can all browsers be sent some kind of flag in the first HTTP response, so that they safely conduct all further exchanges with pipelining enabled?
