How will 3200 RAM work with a 2666 capable processor?
People, tell me plz. I want to assemble a PC: i5 10400f + B460 + with OP it turns out interesting - the processor only supports 2666 MHz, I found the Patriot Viper 3200Mhz bar (PVB416G320C6K) in the office. specifications ( https://viper.patriotmemory.com/products/viper-4-b... the base frequency is 2133. I read reviews ( https://club.dns-shop.ru/review/t-103-operativnaya. ..and I didn't see that JEDEC was at the frequency I needed. Now the question is: I can’t control the memory frequency on the B460 chipset, I can’t set the frequency to 2666? At what frequency will the OP work then? Someone tell me PLIZ! with a frequency of 3200 with a lot for the future, maybe later I will use it when changing the assembly.
PS maybe someone else will give feedback about this OP or Matera (because at the time of writing the question, there is no information about them)

that's how you read, plan, and then look in the bios, and there it is only ...
so everything is only by experience, but the probability is high
Whether or not you can manage frequency depends on your board model, you should look for CPU and memory frequency management software on your board manufacturer's website. Also, see if the memory can operate at a lower frequency (indicated in operating modes).
It will work on 2666, but you will need to manually set the frequency in the BIOS.
Timings will be selected according to Jedec, most likely CL19-19-19..., but they can be lowered. CL16-16-16-36 will take the memory.
On non-Z intel chipsets, it is better and cheaper to take green bars with a frequency of 2666 from Samsung, Crushial, Kingston.
