How to work with NAT-PMP?

I am writing a program and I need it to automatically open ports. As I found out, this is done, for example, in a torrent using NAT-PMP, but I can not find anywhere how to work with it. I found only articles about how it works, but I can’t find anywhere how to add this protocol to my program. Tried opening ports with miniupnpc, doesn't work. Does anyone know how to do this?
I work on Windows.
