How to work in power saving mode?

In athletics, there is a sprint, when you put everything out at once in a short period, and a marathon, when you evenly expend energy.
Are there similar tricks for programmers?
I feel like a sprinter when deadlines are burning, but I feel more psychological stress, I think that if I were calm, I would have done as much, and maybe more.
On the other hand, when I think that I work relaxed, I understand that part of the working time I do not work (social networks, music, tea, cookies), but I do work lazily and reluctantly.
Are there any techniques, materials on how to be at work, but expend less energy?

There are a number of techniques to help cope with the load over long distances. One of the most popular is the work of "tomatoes". Its essence is that for a relatively short period of time (25 minutes) only one task is being worked on, without being distracted by social media. networks and other irritants. The period of work is followed by a five-minute rest, during which you can just have time to check notifications on your phone and answer messages.
This and other useful techniques are in Dorofeev's book "Jedi Techniques". The author there selects a significant arsenal of how to save time and effort.
There is also a book "Getting Things Done" by David Allen on this topic, which also gives an understanding of how to "manage" and cope with your own tasks, and not dig into them.

Slowly, you can work only for yourself, even if you don’t work at all, until the stomach says its weighty word. Uncle or aunt do not care about YOU, your ambitions and Wishlist, they pay you for solving THEIR problems.
