How to work comfortably with WSL (Ubuntu on Windows 10)?

At the moment I am programming in Windows PhpStorm + Git + Docker. Decided to see what kind of Ubuntu beast it is on Windows.
Installed, launched and can not think of how it could be useful. There are a couple of questions:

  1. Does WSL heavily load the main system? Let's say I installed it, but I'm not using it yet - are resources being wasted?
  2. Would it be better if git/docker was put there instead of Windows?
  3. Let's say I put php there. How can I set the path to the interpreter from the Windows PhpStorm?
  4. And in general, how do you use it in your work?

Do not run - resources are not wasted.
For git, it doesn't matter, but the docker won't get up in principle, because cgroups are not emulated.
