How to use the function to change the product before putting it in the cart?

Guys, hello everyone. I have a question. I read that in Bitrix Online Store you can change some product properties before sending them to the cart, or already being in the cart. There is a CSaleBasket::Update method - I don't understand how to use it. Help, please, to understand.
Do I need to write a function in init.php? Or do I need to create an ajax file. I'm kind of confused.

You may or may not want to use this feature.
Before 15.5.0 (on the old directory), there are add events - OnBeforeBasketAdd or OnBasketAdd
After 15.5.0 (on the new directory), there are add / change events - OnSaleBasketItemEntitySaved
