How to use composer in application module where composer already exists?

There is an application that manages composer dependencies

BUT, there are "modules" that do not fall into the vendor, are not distributed as a composer package, but simply the user uploads his module to the "modules" directory and that's it.

How to use composer in such modules?

you either use a composer and everything is in its folder. either your module (if it's awesome) has its own vendor, or you're specifically crutching.
