How to use CC BY-SA 3.0?

I want to use CC BY-SA 3.0 licensed images and music in a commercial game ( https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/deed.ru)
Should the application's source code be open source?
Should the game be distributed under the same license? Or is it not a "derivative work"?

Works under this license are free, commercial use is expressly allowed.
> Should the application's source code be open source?
No. (Well, at least it's hard for me to imagine what you could put into the vague phrase "open source" and what kind of "application" you are talking about to make the answer yes.)
> Should the game be distributed under the same license?
It depends on what you call a game and how you use images.
The program is probably not - regardless of the second, it can be for anyone. Literary script - I think not either.
If borrowings are inscribed in the artistic decorations of the game interface (well, for example, this is the appearance of a character) - probably the entire set of decorations (but not necessarily other sets, if any) should be under conditions compatible with CC BY-SA 3.0. If the borrowing is used as an illustration, it is likely that nothing but the illustration itself is subject to the obligation to release on compatible terms.
One way or another, it makes sense to write to the owner of the work and ask. If he allows it, then great. If he does not allow it, it makes sense not to argue, even if his interpretation does not coincide with the original "Creative-Commons" - he will still act in accordance with his own. Or maybe he will offer you an exception to the copyleft to buy.

If you do not modify them, then you only have to specify the attribute information about the authors in your program.
