Will I infringe on images in my online poster store?

Good day.
I don't understand this at all, tell me who understands.

Let's say I'm setting up an online store where I sell wall posters, can I post posters from movies, TV shows, or bands that I find online? Having climbed on the sites of this subject, it seemed to me that everyone calmly uses any pictures.

You can use other people's images only with permission from their copyright holder. What other questions could there be?

Of course you will - if there is no separate agreement with the copyright holders. In particular, everything that concerns pindosyatiny - they are great at suing on the topic of copyright, and if they understand that you have something to get, they will immediately slap you.

And they may have separate agreements with copyright holders. Or they work according to the principle of some companies - well, they will come, then they will come, but they haven’t come yet ...
(Spoiler - if they do come once, it happens that the business simply closes after that)

It is clear that you can violate someone's copyright. And most likely you are breaking it. Another question is whether your site is so famous and monetized as to be of interest to copyright holders in order to sue and receive compensation from you.
Do not forget that when it comes to copyright, then Copyright is valid for the entire life of the author and 70 years after his death.
So if a poster or a poster with angels from the painting "Sistine Madonna" by Raphael, which has been gone for 500 years, then there is no one to ask you.
But if this is a poster with a reproduction of Salavdor Dali's painting "The Great Masturbator", and the date of Dali's death is January 23, 1989, then the heirs of his rights will be suing for a long time. Not to mention the fact that there are often some photos on the posters.- this is another problematic case! Photographers are actively suing for their rights and most often they win these courts.
So... We have to deal with every poster. But more often than not, you break it. They just haven't gotten to you yet.
