How to upload multiple sites to github?

I want to create a portfolio on Github for my sites, but bad luck - the repository can host only one site.
I read that you can create some kind of gh-pages branch, but I don't understand how to do it to load sites.
In general, the principle itself is incomprehensible, I tried to create subcategories, that is, I created a new repository with my login login.github.io/sitename , but the output is the address login.github.io-sitename , which does not work.
Is there any step by step steb-by-step instruction? because I can't understand the vague instructions on other forums.

Everything is simpler than you think) Here is my portfolio site on github coolswood.github.io
You need to create a hierarchy inside the project, for example, the projects folder and inside another one with a specific site, and put another index.html inside.
The path will be obtained from the root /projects/site/index.html
After that, it can be opened at your-name.github.io/projects/site
