How to upgrade ms sql 2005 express (4gb db limit) to ms sql 2008 r2 express?

Good afternoon.
There is a database ms sql on sql server 2005 express. version 2005 has a 1 DB limit of 4 GB. It has already been reached, records are not added to the database.
You need to upgrade to 2008 R2, where the limit has been extended to 10GB.
I download the ms sql server 2008 R2 express package of the required bitness and language, start the installation, and select "upgrade from previous versions 2000, 2005, 2008", at the stage of pre-installation checks it gives an error "2005 express tools" are installed. It is not possible to upgrade with this component. And if you remove it, then 2008 R2 management studio does not see the old (2005 versions) databases.
Perhaps someone successfully made the transition from 2005 to 2008 R2 and will share the manual?

@pashaxp

It was decided to install next to sql server 2005 - sql server 2008 R2, from 2005 an export was made as a backup of the database in * .bak format, then a clean database was created in sql server 2008 R2, and a dump was poured there.
I slightly changed the connection settings to ms sql in the desired application and everything works.
