How to upgrade from apache 2.2 to apache 2.4?

Please tell me how to switch to apache2.4 from apache2.2? What changes are there, what changes should be made to the sites? And is it worth doing this if so far everything is working (dedik)?

2.4 is (in theory) faster than 2.2. In practice - nichrome is not noticeable.
2.4 began to work faster with statics, began to lock less on statics. But why all this, if nginx is ahead.
Use what is in the distribution and do not suffer.
Changes to sites need to be made only if you update mod_php to a new version of php (especially 5.2 -> 5.3).
