How to update windows server 2008 r2 from August 2020?
Good afternoon!
Today, once again installing windows server 2008 r2, I ran into a problem: I can’t update through the Update Center. In general, no update is downloaded after installation. Error 80072EE2 immediately appears. I tried to eliminate it in ALL ways, of which there are many on the Internet, I reinstalled the system twice, I thought that my hands were crooked. Then I came across this article.
Do I understand correctly that since the end of July 2020 it is no longer possible to update the system through the Update Center for 2008 R2? Or can I install some packages manually, and get the rest of the updates automatically through the Update Center?

Installing kb4490628 immediately after installing the operating system saves from this error.
Update Update Center: download.windowsupdate.com/windowsupdate/redist/st...
Support for Windows Server 2008R2 ended in January 2020.
From now on, support is only on a paid basis -

Updates come through the Update Center.
So you either buy ESU, or upgrade to Windows Server 2012-16-19, or use UpdatePack7R2 at your own risk.
